The neighborhood was very festive this year with our decorations, and looked very welcoming. With that said, please remember that all decorations need to be removed by January 15, 2017.
Republic Services will pick up trees for composting Jan. 7 and Jan. 13 Leave at curbside no tinsel, no lights, no tree stands Do NOT place in plastic bags.
Because of the New Year’s Day holiday on Sunday, Jan. 1 Curbside trash collection will be delayed that week. Trash will be picked up:SATURDAY, JAN. 7
In regards to snow removal for driveways, Green Horizons will not plow the driveway if a vehicle is parked outside.
In addition, according to the city ordinance, there is no overnight parking on the street, or anytime during a snow ban of 2 inches or more.
We would like to remind pet owners about being good neighbors. Please be mindful of cleaning up after your pet in all common areas and on personal property.

PLEASE remember…as there will be a lot of holiday gatherings, please let your guests know where to park in the community. Your driveway is primary with the parking pads secondary. If guests need to park on the street – parking is only be allowed on the non- fire hydrant side of the street. (This is a City ordinance). There is no overnight parking on the street at any time.

Snow removal reminders:
Driveways will not be plowed if there is a car present on the driveway.
Driveways are on a 2” trigger; this means driveways will not be plowed until 2” of snowfall.
Be mindful of parking on the street so the plows can do their job during snow storms
Some plow damage is inevitable. Green Horizon will attempt to minimize this but superficial damage is possible due to snow removal.
Salting, while keeping our streets ice free, is hard on our grass. Some burn out is to be expected after each season. Since we do not have a tree lawn or sidewalk buffer.
Plow damage that is done to lawns will be repaired by Green Horizon in the spring.

It is that time of year again…the pond fountain will be turned off October 28th. The fountain will be removed and put into storage for the winter. This is to keep the pump from being damaged by the pond freezing. The fountain will be turned back on in early spring.
With winter just around the corner we would like to remind everyone to take the time to properly store outdoor items. No Storage under the decks or on front porches.
As the holiday’s approach be reminded to use the parking pads and when parking on the street please do not park on the fire hydrant side as this is a city wide rule.

As always watch your speed when driving in and out of the neighborhood. We can’t stress this enough, be mindful of your speed.
While summer is coming to an end the weather is still agreeable enough to be outside often, we would like to remind everyone that all outdoor items such as grills, benches, chairs, tables, and any other outdoor accessories need to be stored on your deck/patio or garage when not in use. The area under decks is not considered storage.
Green Horizons will start the fall pruning at the end of October.
Several residents have inquired as to the purpose of our communities detention ponds and what state they should be in. Detention ponds serve as an area that temporarily holds storm water after it rains. This storm water comes from the streets. After enough water collects in the detention ponds they begin to slowly drain into outlets that lead to the Rocky River.
These detention ponds are required by the EPA/Sewer District as a means to control the rate that water enters the storm water system (which includes rivers). Additionally they keep sediment from entering rivers as it settles in the ponds prior to the water draining. Code requires that these ponds do not drain their water too quickly which is why you will see water in them for several days after a storm. In addition to this they require that there is not substantial vegetation in the ponds which means we must keep them clean and cut throughout the year. Large amounts of vegetation restricts the flow of water too much and creates a habitat for unwanted animals and insects.
