April Newsletter

Hi Trailheaders,

Happy Spring??  Surely it’s right around the corner….and soon we’ll be outside doing all the great park things we moved here to take advantage of!

There is a lot of news to pass along so here goes:

Annual Election of Board Member

For those of you who are new to Trailhead since last spring, every year we have one Board member who rotates off the Board after serving a 3-year term. This makes room for a different resident to be elected to the Board. The election happens at the annual meeting that takes place on the second Tuesday of June (June 11) at 7:30PM in the Berea Room at City Hall.  Any resident whose name is on the deed of their home, is eligible for election, one person per household. The call for nominations has gone out. When someone is nominated, the Board speaks with that person to be sure they are willing to serve. Then their name goes on the ballot. You will receive, by USPS, on or before May 11, a list of nominees, any items to be voted on, and a proxy statement. The proxy statement is to be used if you will not be able to attend the meeting but want to cast a vote. More information about the meeting and election will follow, but if you have any questions, please email Laura.

Construction news

Lot 9 will be closing on April 16.  Lot 1 dig is scheduled for April 19. There will be cones blocking the parking pads at the top of the hill during working hours, to keep the construction trucks off the pads. If you, a resident, or a guest, needs to park up there, please just move the cone and use the pad as it is intended to be used.  The next market home will be constructed on lot 11. It will be a Chester, and the dig is scheduled for April 26.

A word of caution, when construction on lot 1 begins, the entrance will be difficult to navigate….I guess that means no more whipping around the corner!!!

Landscape news

Bill Sweeny is the Chair of the Landscape Committee. As such, he is the person to contact if you have problems, concerns or questions about landscape and/or landscape services. His email is bsweeny12@gmail.com.  Our landscaper has asked that all communication go through either the Board or Bill. He will be meeting with the site supervisor each week when they are here, so he can make sure your concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Schill landscape will be out in about 3 weeks to do the spring cleanup and it looks like our weekly service will most likely be on Tuesdays. Just a reminder to those who have a sprinkler system, please don’t run it the day of lawn services.

Email news

To date, when you receive an email from the Board, it has come from Laura’s email address. Be assured the email was written by the entire Board, but we did not have an email address just for Board use. This will change shortly. In the near future, all communications from the Board will come from theboard@trailheadvillage.com. When we begin to use this, please send your communications to the Board to that address.

Website News

Since many of us will want to begin Spring projects soon, please remember to access the website for forms needed to make changes and additions to your landscape, and/or your decks or patios. We are continually updating these forms as we find ways to make them work better for residents and the Board.

Please read the section of the Rules and Regulations, found on the website, concerning what you can do without asking for approval.

Status of Drees’ Realtor

Katie Hoecker, the realtor for Drees at Trailhead, is now working out of Strongsville. There is more traffic there and she is better able to refer buyers to our development.

Please feel free to shoo away the geese that love to use our pond and the surrounding grass. They are totally messy and any help anyone wants to give is appreciated.
